How Our Grants Work
Our grant program is powered by our members. Twice each year, our members dollars are pooled and awarded to carefully vetted nonprofits during our Giving events. Here is how the process works:
Nonprofits apply through our grant application during the open cycle.
All applications are reviewed and vetted by our Grants Committee.
Finalists are invited to present their mission directly to our members at a First Giving event.
Members vote, and grant recipients are announced the same evening.
Since 2019, this process has awarded nearly $1 million to more than 50 nonprofits across Northeast Ohio.

The Application Process
Review qualifications to confirm eligibility.
Complete and submit the online application by the deadline.
Five semi-finalists are selected for site visits and interviews.
Three finalists are notified and invited to present at our giving event.
Members vote by secret ballot; the majority decides the grant recipient.
