March 2023 - First Giving

$35,000

The Gladiator X Project (GXP) aims to provide comfort and support to patients and families experiencing epilepsy treatment and other neurological disorders through the purchase of equipment and supplies.

Our grant will help them purchase 100 FDA-cleared Embrace Alert Watches and EmFit Seizure Alert Devices. While these devices are proven to help save lives, they are not covered by most insurance policies.  GXP will not only be able to raise awareness but also to provide life-saving devices to those who need them the most.

The mission of Akron Snow Angels is to spread warmth and connect with the most vulnerable in our community. By providing basic winter essentials, toiletries and blankets, they foster compassionate friendships. Akron Snow Angels is seeking a grant to cover the cost of coats, boots, and other durable cold weather items that are specifically designed for the uniquely harsh conditions faced by individuals who are homeless.

$7,500

Empower Sports was founded with the belief that no child should ever be left on the sidelines, regardless of disability, age, or gender. Fully inclusive programming helps athletes with disabilities improve their social skills, self-esteem, and overall well-being. Empower Sports is seeking a grant for the expansion of their Future Stars multi-sport programming serving participants ages 5-10, many of whom are on the Autism Spectrum.

June 2023 - Tangible Giving

Our annual Tangible Giving Event provides a selected charity with not a monetary gift, but instead, everyday items that the people they serve can actually touch. Ironically, the most touching part of the event is seeing the generosity of our members.

September 2023 - Second Giving

$35,000

The mission of Collaborative to End Human Trafficking is to lead, empower and connect our community to eradicate human trafficking.

This women-led organization equips supporting agencies and survivors with resources to address this crisis. This grant allows five survivors an opportunity for empowerment and leadership, as well as establish a survivor emergency fund to benefit approximately 50 additional survivors.

The Haven Home’s mission is to compassionately serve under-resourced women and children by empowering sustainable independence. This is accomplished by first meeting basic needs of survival and then offering support services that holistically address the physical, emotional, and economic aspects of motherhood.

$7,500

Jump On Board for Success (JOBS) aids at-risk young women and mothers ages 13-35 who struggle with employment by offering hands-on job skills, training, and employment.

They are building a four-month Culinary Arts and Catering Program which prepares women for a career in the food-service industry. The program has a 100% job placement rate upon graduation and aims to be self-sustaining by the end of 2024.
